PCM Down Conversion
Select how to output audio with a sampling
frequency of 96 kHz.
No: Signals are output as 96 kHz. (Choose when the connected equipment can process signals
with sampling frequency of 96 kHz.)
Yes: Signals are converted to 48 kHz. (Choose when the connected equipment cannot process
signals with sampling frequency of 96 kHz.)
Signals are converted to 48 kHz despite the above settings if the signals have a sampling frequency of
over 96 kHz, or the disc has copy protection.
Dolby Digital
Bitstream PCM
Select “Bitstream” when the equipment can decode the bitstream (digital
form of multi-channel data). Otherwise, select “PCM”.
[Note]
If the bitstream is output to the equipment without a decoder, high levels of
noise can be output and may damage your speakers and hearing.

Dynamic Range Compression
Off
On: Adjusts for clarity even when the volume is low through compressing the range of the lowest
sound level and the highest sound level. Convenient for late night viewing. (Only works with
Dolby Digital)

Changes the brightness of the unit’s
display.
Bright Dim
Auto:The display is dimmed during play, but brightens when you perform operations such as slow-
motion, search, and pause.
Auto Power Off
On: The unit switches to standby mode after about 30 minutes in the stop mode, irrespective of the
SLEEP setting.

Mixed Disc – Audio & Stills
Select the type of file played on discs
containing both JPEG and WMA/MP3.
