Synchronized
Recording

The SYNCHRO
REC indicator turns
off while recording
or does not go back
to recording standby
mode.

The tape has reached its end. Insert a new tape and press SYNCHRO
REC again.

The Synchronized
Recording function
does not work.

The connected equipment was not turned off.
Turn off the connected equipment and press SYNCHRO REC again.
t
There was a power failure. Press SYNCHRO REC again.

The programme
recorded with the
Synchronized
Recording function
is incomplete.

If the settings for timer recordings and Synchronized Recording
overlap, the programme that starts first has priority and the second
programme starts recording only after the first programme has
finished.

There was a power failure. Press SYNCHRO REC again.
Remote
commander

The remote
commander does not
operate.
t
Make sure you are pointing the remote commander at the remote
sensor on the VCR.
t
Replace all of the batteries in the remote commander with new ones if
they are weak.

Make sure the TV/VIDEO remote control switch is set correctly.

You cannot control
your TV.
t
Set your TVs code number. The code number may change when you
replace the batteries for the remote commander (see page 8).
Cleaning

The VCR needs to be
cleaned.

Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a dry, soft cloth, or a soft
cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use
any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzene.
Clock

The clock has
stopped and “–: –”
lights up in the
display window.
t
The clock stops if the VCR is disconnected from the mains for more
than one hour. Reset the clock and timer if needed (see page 19).
Power

Connect the mains lead to the mains securely.

on but the VCR does
not operate.

Moisture condensation has occurred. Turn the power off, unplug the
mains lead and leave the VCR to dry for over three hours.

You have set a timer recording, but the tape on which you want to
record is protected. Use another tape or replace the safety tab.

The display is not lit
when the VCR is in
STANDBY mode.

The VCR is in power save mode. Set the POWER SAVE option to
OFF in the OTHER OPTIONS menu (see page 75).
