Selecting Ring Speed 4-11
The default setting for Ring Speed is Auto.
5 To manually set the ring speed, select Ring Speed in
the Property list.
6 Position the mouse pointer on the down arrow
button in the Value field. Press and hold down the
left mouse button.
The Advanced tab appears, as shown in Figure 4-4.

7 Select one of the following values:
■ 16 — Disables auto ring speed detection and sets NIC
ring speed at 16 Mbps
■ 4 — Disables auto ring speed detection and sets NIC
ring speed at 4 Mbps
■ Auto — Allows NIC to automatically detect ring speed
Your selection overrides the factory setting for the
3C359 NIC and any setting made through the DOS
Configuration and Diagnostic Program.
8 Click OK.
