Setting up your portable
DVD player
Installing the rechargeable battery pack
Your player uses a long-life Ni-Mh battery pack
for a portable power supply. Ni-Mh batteries
feature high storage capacity.
If you plan not to use the battery for an extended
period of time (one week or longer), we
recommend that you fully charge the battery,
then remove and store it. For longer periods of
storage, recharge the battery at least once every
two months to maintain the battery in optimum
condition. Under no circumstances should you
short the battery terminals, store the battery in a
metal container, or leave the battery in a humid
or damp environment. Store the battery in an
airtight container with desiccant or another
dehumidifying agent. Each full recharge takes
approximately five-hours. One full charge can
provide power to the player for at least 2.5 hours.
During recharge, the red battery recharge
indicator on the right side of the player stays on.
Once fully recharged, the indicator turns off. At
this point you may disconnect the wall plug and
stop charging the battery.
Precautions related to recharging the battery:
• After the battery is fully discharged,
immediately recharge it (even if you plan to
not use your battery) in order to maximize
battery life.
• Remove the battery from the player and store
it correctly if the player is not to be used for
long time. During this period, recharge the
battery at least once every two months to
avoid irreparable damage to the battery.
