Load a cassette with the record safety
tab intact.
● The unit’s power comes on automatically and the counter
is reset to 0:00:00.

Press VHS/DVD on the unit repeatedly
or VHS on the remote control so that
the VHS lamp lights up on the unit.

Press PR +/– or the number buttons to
select the channel you wish to record.
● If you record the programmes received by the satellite
receiver ...
1) Select “L-2” by pressing PR +/–.
2) Set the satellite receiver to the appropriate channel.

Press REC MODE repeatedly to set the
recording mode.

Press 7 on the unit to start recording.
Or while holding 7, press 4 on the
remote control.
● If “SUPERIMPOSE” is set to “AUTO” (੬ pg. 79), “MARK”
blinks on the screen while an index code is being marked.
● B.E.S.T. takes place at the beginning of both the first SP
and the first LP recording after inserting the cassette.

● If “DIRECT REC” is set to “ON”, the programme that
appears on the TV screen will be recorded. (

Press 9 to pause recording.
● You can select channel during the Record Pause mode.
● To resume recording, press 4.

Press 8 to stop recording.
Recording Resume Function
If there is a power outage during recording, Instant Timer
Recording (ITR) (
੬ pg. 63) or timer recording (੬ pg. 29,
31), the recording will resume automatically when power is
restored to the unit unless the unit’s memory backup has
expired.
