To Select The External Input Mode
To record external audio and video signals;
1 Press the remote control's NUMBER key "0".
2 Press AV/S SELECT on the front of the recorder to select the appropriate external input mode.
Pressing AV/S SELECT rotates the input mode as follows:

When using front panel input connectors:

NOTES:
To record input signals from the AV2 IN/DECODER connector, set "AV2 SELECT to "AV2" (see below).
Connections made to the front panel Video and Audio inputs automatically override the rear panel AUDIO/VIDEO input
connection. If you wish to edit with another machine connected to the rear input connector, make sure that there is nothing
connected to the front connectors.
Use the L connector for monaural connection.
When using rear panel input connectors:

AV2 SELECT Setting
1 Press MENU twice to access the Main Menu screen.
2 Press PUSH JOG %fi to move the highlight bar (pointer) to "MODE SET", then press OK.
3 Press PUSH JOG %fi to move the highlight bar (pointer) to "AV2 SELECT".
4 Press PUSH JOG to move the highlight bar (pointer) to your choice:
a–AV2 : To use this recorder as the recording deck with the player connected to the
AV2 IN/DECODER connector.
b–DECODER : To use a decoder connected to the AV2 IN/DECODER connector.
5 Press MENU to return to normal screen.
If you have a decoder, be sure to set "AV2 SELECT" back to "DECODER" after editing.
If you're not using a decoder, leave "AV2 SELECT" set to "AV2".
The default setting is "AV2"; if the recorder's memory backup has expired due to a power cut or because the AC was
removed from the recorder, "AV2" will be automatically selected when the power is restored to the recorder. If you are using
a decoder, be sure to set "AV2 SELECT" back to "DECODER".
