Location
Forsafeoperationand satisfactoryperformanceof yourTV/VCR, remember the following:.
Shieldit from directsunlightandkeepit awayfrom sourcesof intenseheat.
Avoiddustyor humidplaces.
Avoid placeswith insutficientventilation.Do not blockthe ventilationopeningsat the top and bottom
ofthe TV/VCR. Do not placetheTV/VCR on a carpet_asthis will blockthe ventilationopenings.
Avoid locationssubjectto strongvibredons.
Do not placetheTV/VCR near strongmagneticfields.
Do not movetheTV/VCR from a coldplaceto a hot place,or viceversa.
Electrical ShockAnd Fire Hazards
Do not handlethe power cord with wet hands.
Do not pull the powercord when disconnectingthe'rV/VCR from the AC (alternatingcurrent) wall
outlet.Grasp it bythe plug.
If water isspilledon the'I-V/VCR, unplugthe powercord immediatelyandtake the'I'V/VCR to an
authorizedservicecenter.
Do not put your fingersor objectsintotheTV/VCR cassettecompartment.
Do not placeanythingon top of theTV/VCR.
DewWarning (Moisture Condensation)
Moisture maycondenseinsidethe unitwhen it ismoved from a coldplaceto awarm place,afterheat-
inga cold room, or when the humidityishigh.Thereis no warning that moisturehasaccumulatedin
your TV/VCR. If youtry to playa tapein aTV/VCR in whichmoisturehasaccumulated,the tapeand
theTV/VCR couldbe damaged.If you think moisture mayhaveaccumulatedinsidetheTV/VCR, keep
theTV/VCR power on (but do not playa tape)for at leasttwo hours.Thiswill allowtheTV/VCR to
dry.
TV/VCR will not perform a timer recording.
Make surethe recording start andstop timesare set correctly(pages32 - 35).Midnight is 12 _m.
Noon is 12 p.m.
Make surethe'[V/VCR power isoff.
Make surethe clock isset (pages12 - 17).
Make surethere isa tape in theTV/VCP,.The tapemusthavea record tab.
If the powerfails,programmedrimer recordings will be restored whenthe clockisreset. ('[he clock
will reset itselfautomaticallyifyou are usingthe AUTO CLOCK feature.Detailsare on p_ges14- 17.If
you are not usingtheAUTO CLOCK feature,reset the clockmanually.Detailsare on pages12- 13.)
The timer recording will not occuronlyIf the timer recording wasscheduledto take placeduringthe
power failure.
Make sure DEFEATRECORDING isset to OFF (page36),
TV/VCR will not record.
Make surethe tape hasa record tab (pagefive).
Make sure DEFEATRECORDING issetto OFF (page36).
Plugthe power cord into anactiveAC outlet (pageseven).
Check your hookups(pagessix- seven).
Set up the channels(pageI0).
