Canal Plus
You cannot watch the
Canal Plus programme
when the VCR is in
standby mode.
Check that DECODEUR/LIGNE3 (or DECODEUR/
LIGNE2) in the OPTIONS-2 menu is set to DEOCEUR
(see page 84).
Make sure the Canal Plus Scart cable is plugged securely.
Check that VEILLE ECO in the OPTIONS-2 menu is set to
PARTIELLE or NON (see page 85).
The Canal Plus
programme is always
recorded scrambled.
Make sure the Canal Plus Scart cable is plugged securely.
Check that DECODEUR/LIGNE3 (or DECODEUR/
LIGNE2) in the OPTIONS-2 menu is set to DECODEUR
(see page 84).
Check that this channel is set as Canal Plus in the
REGLAGE DES CHAINES menu (see page 39).
Others
A tape cannot be
inserted.
Check that a tape isn’t already in the tape compartment.
The remote commander
does not function.
Make sure you are pointing the remote commander at the
remote sensor on the VCR.
Replace all the batteries in the remote commander with
new ones if they are weak.
Make sure the [TV] / [MAGN] remote control switch is set
correctly.
The selected input line
connector number does
not appear in the display
window.
Check that DECODEUR/LIGNE3 (or DECODEUR/
LIGNE2) in the OPTIONS-2 menu is set to LIGNE3 (or
LIGNE2) (see page 84).
The SMARTLINK
function does not work.
Check that your TV complies with SMARTLINK,
MEGALOGIC, EASYLINK, Q-Link, EURO VIEW
LINK, or T-V LINK.
Make sure you use the PERITEL cable to connect the VCR
and your TV.
Make sure the PERITEL cable is connected securely.
The tracking meter does
not appear on the TV
screen.
The recording condition of the tape is very poor and
tracking cannot be adjusted.
The tracking meter does not appear when playing back an
NTSC-recorded tape.
You cannot control other
TVs.
Set your TV’s code number. The code number may change
when you replace the batteries of the remote commander.
The display window
becomes dim.
The display window automatically becomes dim when the
VCR is in standby or timer recording mode.
The VCR needs to be
cleaned.
Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a dry, soft cloth,
or a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent
solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or
benzene.
