recording media (HDD, DVD). See below.

Press REC.
Recording starts.
Customizing the MN mode
1) During stop or at step 3 on page 45, press
QUICK MENU.
2) Press
/ to select User record quality then
press ENTER.
3) Change the setting for each recording media.
4) Press ENTER.
The menu disappears.
Press / to select HDD or DVD.
Press ADJUST to select the setting
number (1 - 5).
You can customize each setting.
Press / / / to select Mode, Rate
or ‘“Audio quality, then press ADJUST to
change the value.
Notes
To record a high quality picture, select MN to raise a bit
rate. The higher the bit rate, the better the picture quality is,
but the shorter the recording length becomes. We
recommend that you set this between 6.0 Mbps and 6.8
Mbps.
You can change the combination of picture and audio
quality settings also by displaying the Quick Menu on
LIBRARY MENU or in stop mode, then selecting User
Record Quality. Either of the above methods updates the
setting of this recorder.
If you set SP or LP, you cannot select L-PCM.
Depending on the audio quality settings, the upper limit for
the picture quality setting differs.
You can adjust the manual rate for picture quality by
0.2 Mbps from 2.0 to 9.2. (You cannot set the rate from 1.4
to 2.0.)
