•Youcanspecifyanumberofpagesintheprinter’sNoz.CheckFreq.menuforautomaticnozzle

checkingandcleaningeverytimeyounishprintingthatquantity.(→P.49)

•YoucanstartHeadCleaningAbyholdingdowntheInformationbuttonforthreesecondsormore.

•PrintheadcleaningisnotpossibleifPOPBoard(1.5mm[0.06in]thick)isloadedintheFrontPaper

FeedSlot.Removethepaperbeforecleaning.

1.PresstheMenubuttontodisplayMAINMENU.

2.Press▲or▼toselectHeadCleaning,andthenpressthe►button.

3.Press▲or▼toselectthetypeofcleaning,andthenpresstheOKbutton.

•HeadCleaningA

UseHeadCleaningAifprintingisfaintorcontainsforeignsubstances.Thismethodofcleaning

consumestheleastamountofink.Ittakesaboutfourminutestocomplete.

•HeadCleaningB

UseHeadCleaningBifnoinkcomesoutoftheprinthead,orifHeadCleaningAdoesnotsolvethe

problem.Ittakesaboutveminutestocomplete.

Theprintheadiscleaned,andtheprintergoesonline.

4.Printatestpatterntocheckthenozzles,anddeterminewhethercleaninghasclearedthe

nozzles.(→P.623)

•IfprintingdoesnotimproveafterHeadCleaningA,tryHeadCleaningB.Ifthisdoesnotsolve

theproblem,repeatHeadCleaningBtwoorthreetimes.Ifthisstilldoesnotimproveprinting,the

Printheadmayhavereachedtheendofitsusefullife.ContactyourCanondealer.

•DonotremovetheMaintenanceCartridgeorInkTanksduringcleaning.
