Use the following keys to compose a melody:
1: to enter C, the first note in the musical scale (do).
2: to enter D (re).
3: to enter E (mi).
4: to enter F (fa).
5: to enter G (sol).
6: to enter A (la).
7: to enter B (si).
8: to raise an octave higher or drop an octave lower.
9: Not available
0: to enter a note rest. Press 0
until you find the desired length of rest.
#: to raise one semitone above the tone written.
Example:If you want to enter a sharped F (fa),
press F (fa) then press # button.
C: to delete notes.
Up/Down key:to move a note to
the next semitone higher position or lower
position in the musical scale For example, the note
A moves A#,B, C, C# in the scale each time you
press the on the left side of the phone.

: to adjust a length of note.
Enter a note, then press
*
key. Notice that the note
length will be changed each time you press the
key.
You can listen to your melody by pressing the Listen
soft key. If you are satisfied, press the Save soft key,
and enter the melody name. For information on how
to enter a name, refer to page 41.
After you save the melody, the display asks you to
set the melody as a ring tone. If you select Yes, your
phone plays the melody each time your phone rings.

You can use the Sound Settings feature to customise
various settings, such as the:
Ringing tone, volume and type
• Composing your own melody
Sounds made when you press a key, make an
error or receive a message
Ring Tone Menu 5-1
This option allows you to select the required ringing
tone. You can choose between different tones. Each
time you select a tone, it is played for a few seconds.
Melody Composer Menu 5-2
This menu allows you to compose your own melody
to set as a ring tone.
• Three octaves are available.
• A maximum of 40 notes can be entered.
• Adjustable length of note and note rest.
To Compose Melody
You can compose two melodies. When you access
the menu, the melody name appears, if already
created. Otherwise, Empty Melody appears. Select
Empty Melody to create a new melody or select the
melody name if you want to edit.
