Digital Audio Output
Each DVD disc has a variety of audio output options. Set
the players Digital Audio Output according to the type of
audio system you use.
CAUTION
If the AV amplifier is not equipped with a Dolby
Digital decoder or DTS decoder, do not select
DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM or Stream/PCM in the
Digital Audio Output when connecting the AV
amplifier with an optical or coaxial connecting
cord.
Merely attempting to play a DVD may cause a high
level of noise which could be harmful to your ears and
damage the speakers. In such a case, be sure to select
PCM.

At the SETUP menu, press i/k to
select Digital Audio Output and
press l.

Press i/k to select the desired
output and press ENTER.
DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM:
Select this when connecting to an AV amplifier or other
equipment that is equipped with a Dolby Digital (AC-3)
decoder or a Dolby Pro Logic Surround decoder.
Stream/PCM:
Select this when connecting to an AV amplifier or other
equipment that is equipped with a DTS decoder or a MPEG
decoder.
PCM:
The default setting is PCM. Select this when connecting
to an audio system without a Dolby digital(AC-3), DTS or
other special decoder.
NOTE
When you are not using the players digital audio output,
dont select any of the options.
