Additional Notes Regarding DVD Content
Not all functions supported by the MAX-AVP are available or allowed by all DVD content. For example,
even if a DVD shows 3 available languages, you may not be able to change the language using the
AUDIO button on the AVP’s no-screen display. When such a feature is non-selectable, it can usually be
set via the DVD’s menu (accessed via the MENU button or TITLE button on the remote controller).
DVD Aspect Ratios
Some older DVDs (first and second generation discs) may be in a Widescreen aspect ratio, but not
"Anamorphic" or "Enhanced For Widescreen TVs". In these cases, the title will not display properly on a
16:9 display, since it is a widescreen movie "matted" in a 4:3 signal.
Most 16:9 displays offer a "Zoom" mode that can be used to make the movie properly fill the screen,
though this will make the DISPLAY popups unusable, since they will be off-screen. The AVP may need
to be set to 4:3 (via WinMAX) to allow the TV to zoom properly for this type of content.
MAX Server Pages – Music Options
Highlight Music on the main screen to access the following options for accessing audio/CD content on
the MAX server (FIG. 21):
Title: This option allows you to browse all CDs on the MAX server, by CD title. See the
Browse For Music section on page 36 for details.
Genre: This option allows you to browse for CDs by genre. See the Browse Music by
Genre section on page 37 for details.
Cover: This option allows you to browse CDs by their cover art. See the Browse Music by
Cover section on page 38 for details.
DVD functions such as alternate angles, subtitles and audio options are not
necessarily supported by all DVDs. If a selected function is not supported by the
current DVD, the No Function symbol (FIG. 12) is displayed.
