Chapter 4 : Operating Your VCR
Playing a Tape
1. To begin playing a tape, place it in the TV/VCR’s cassette compartment. If the erasure pre-
vention tab has been removed, the tape will begin playing automatically. If the erasure pre-
vention tab is intact, press the PLAY button on the front panel or on the remote control.
2. To pause the tape and display a still frame, press the PAUSE/STILL button on the remote
control.
3. To stop the tape, press the STOP/EJECT button on the front panel or on the remote control.
Searching for a scene
If you are looking for a particular scene, you can use the FF and REW buttons to find the
scene faster.
1. Press the FF button dur-
ing playback to search
quickly in the forward
direction. Press the FF
button a second time to
search at 7X normal(in
SP speed) or 11X nor-
mal (in EP).
2. Press the REW button
during playback to
search quickly in the reverse direction. Press the REW button a second time to search at
7X normal (in SP speed) or 11X normal (in EP.)
If you press FF or REW while the tape is stopped, the TV/VCR will quickly wind your tape in
the selected direction. No picture from the tape will be displayed, but the tape moves at a
much higher speed without the picture.
