³Underlined items are the factory presets.
“Other ¢¢¢¢”: Input a code number with the numbered buttons
(á page 24).
“Original”: The original language of each disc will be selected.
“Automatic”: If the language selected for “Audio” is not available,
subtitles of that language will automatically appear if
available on that disc.
Level 8: All DVDs can be played.
Level 1 to 7: Prohibits play of DVDs with corresponding ratings recorded
on them.
Level 0: Prohibits play of all DVDs.
Field: Less blurred field stills are shown. Select if jittering occurs
when “Automatic” is selected.
Frame: Sharper frame stills are shown. Select if small text or fine
patterns cannot be seen clearly when “Automatic” is selected.
Lighter: when connected to a TV through the VIDEO OUT or S VIDEO
OUT terminal.
Darker: when connected to a TV through the COMPONENT VIDEO
OUT (Y/CB/CR) terminals.
Remarks
Some discs are designed to start in a certain language despite
any changes you make here.

Dynamic range is the difference between the loudest sound
and the softest sound. By compressing this range, you can
listen at low volume but still enjoy clear dialog.
