CONTROLLING THE TV
Once programmed, the VCR's remote control is ready to control the TV.
NOTE:
Be aware that not all of your TV's functions may work even though the remote control is correctly
programmed.
1. Select the TV function mode
First press the TV button to change to the TV function mode, then press the button of the TV function that
you want.
For example;
Press the TV button and the CH (
), and the TV station will change to the next higher station.
NOTE:
Also, you may change the channels at the TV by using the number buttons. If you can not change the
channels at the TV by using the number buttons, press the ENTER button after you press the number
buttons. It may change channels at the TV.
2 Return to the VCR function mode
Press the VCR button to operate your VCR with the remote again.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
If you have followed the instructions contained in this manual and have difficulty in operating your VCR,
locate the PROBLEM in the left column below. Check the corresponding CORRECTIVE ACTION
columns to remedy the problem.
PROBLEM CORRECTIVE ACTION
No power. • Make sure the AC cord is connected to an AC outlet.
• Make sure the power is turned on.
Timer recording is not possible. • Make sure the timer recording is set correctly.
• Make sure the power is off.
• Make sure the VCR clock is set correctly.
Cannot go into Record mode. • Make sure the tape has an erase-prevention tab. If needed, cover
the hole with plastic tape.
Playback picture is partially noisy • Adjust tracking control for a better picture by using the CHANNEL
or button on the VCR.
No picture but the audio is OK in
playback.
• Head cleaning may be necessary. Refer to "HEAD CLEANING" on
page 35.
No picture or poor picture on
playback.
• Set your TV to the VCR mode and/or press the VCR/TV button on
the remote control so that the "VCR" indicator on the display comes
on.
• Fine tune your TV.
On-the-air TV programs cannot be
seen.
• Re-check the ANT. IN and ANT.OUT connections. See page 10.
• Set your TV to the TV mode and/or press the VCR/TV button on the
remote control so that the "VCR" indicator on the display disappears..
No operation from the infrared
Remote Control
• Make sure the AC cord is connected to an AC outlet.
• Check batteries in remote control
• If the TV or CATV button is selected, press the VCR button on the
remote control
Video or color fades in and out
when making a copy of a video tape
• You cannot copy a copyrighted video tape. You are experiencing
copy guard protection.
