1 POWER button (19)
Turns the unit on or off (standby).
2 STANDBY indicator (16)
Lights when the power cord is connected and the unit is
on standby. When the unit is turned on, the STANDBY
indicator goes off.
3 DVD AUDIO indicator
Lights when a DVD Audio disc is loaded.
4 Display window
Indicates the current status of the unit.
5 DIGITAL DIRECT PROGRESSIVE indicator (42)
Lights when playing back a film-source DVD Video disc
with the unit's progressive mode set to “SMART”, “FILM”
or “AUTO” and the SCAN MODE selector set to “525p”.
6 Sampling frequency indicators
Indicates the sampling frequency currently played back.
7 4/¢ (SKIP) buttons (20, 21, 24)
Pressing the button during playback skips a chapter, title
or track.
Holding down the button during playback advances or
reverses playback rapidly.
Also used for the page selection of a menu screen for PBC
of Video CDs.
8 3 (PLAY) button (20, 23)
Starts playback. Also used as the SELECT button for PBC
of Video CDs.
9 8 (PAUSE) button (20, 27, 28)
Pauses playback.
Also, holding down this button displays nine continuous
still pictures (STROBE function).
0 7 (STOP) button (20, 30)
Stops playback.
Also used to erase all the programmed tracks for the
program play.
- 0 (OPEN/CLOSE) button (19)
Used to open and close the disc tray.
= Disc tray (19)
Used to load a disc.
~ Remote sensor
Receives the signal from the remote control unit.
! DISPLAY OFF button and indicator
The button turns the display window on or off.
When the display window is off, the indicator lights.
