Display window
1 MPEG indicator
Turns on when MPEG signals are output from the player, for
example when playing back a Video CD disc.
2 Audio format indicator
[LPCM] turns on when linear PCM audio signals are output
from the player, for example when playing back an Audio CD
disc.
3 DVD AUDIO indicator
Turns on when a DVD AUDIO disc is played back.
4 Progressive mode indicators
[P] turns on in the progressive scanning mode.
[DDP] turns on depending on the [PICTURE SOURCE]
preference setting and the source type of the current DVD
VIDEO disc (see page 6 for details).
5 Group/title/track/chapter indicators
Show what is indicated by the multi-information display during
playback.
6 Repeat mode indicators
Turn on in the repeat playback mode and show the currently
selected repeat mode.
7 Program/random indicators
Turn on in the program playback mode/random playback mode
respectively.
8 Total time/remaining time indicators
[TOTAL] turns on when total elapsed time is indicated by the
multi-information display.
[REM] turns on when remaining playback time is indicated by
the multi-information display.
9 kHz (unit of sampling frequency) indicator
Turns on when the sampling frequency of the digital audio
being played back is indicated by the rightmost 3 digits of the
multi-information display.
0 Dolby Digital/DTS/3D indicators
[Dolby D] turns on when playing back a Dolby Digital sound
source.
[DTS] turns on when playing back a DTS-encoded digital
sound source.
[3D] turns on when the 3D PHONIC function is activated.
- 3 (play)/ 8 (pause) indicators
Turn on in the playback mode/pause mode respectively.
= Multi-information display
Indicates various kinds of information by numbers and
alphabets, such as the player’s current status (“READING,”
“OPEN,” etc.) or currently played DVD’s title and chapter
number.

DIMMER button
Press to change the brightness of the display window.
You can select the display window brightness from three levels
or off. If the brightness is set to off, nothing will be shown on
the display.
By pressing this button, the brightness of the blue illumination
around the disc tray also changes.
