Symptoms Items to Check and Actions to follow
“Ghost” or
double images
• This may be caused by obstruction to the antenna due to high rise buildings or hills.
Using a highly directional antenna may improve the picture .
No power
• Check that the TV ’sAC power cord is plug ged into the mains socket.
• Unpl ug t he tel evisi on , w ait for 6 0 seconds. Then re-inser t pl ug in to t he m ain s socket and t ur n on t he
television again.
No picture
• Check antenna connections at the bottom of the T V to see if they are properly connected to the TV.
• Possible broadcast st ation trouble. Tr y another channel.
• Adjust the contrast and brightness settings. Try another auto picture set ting.
• Check the Closed Captions control. Some TEX T modes could block the screen.
• Check if you selected the correc t AV source .
No picture and
power switched
on
• Your T V has a protective mode in case there is too much heat build-up. Check the clearance around
the vents of the device to be cer tain there are no blocking walls or cabinets which would limit the air
flow.
Picture position
adjustment
When disp laying a High Defi nit ion signal from the YPbPr input s or HD MI input, if necessary, yo u can
adjust the picture position to the center of the screen with the cursor left/right or up /dow n butt ons on
the re mote contro l. This may be needed due to slight dif ferences in output signals from different brands
and ty pe s of HD sources b oxe s.
Notes: Most High Defini tion receiver boxes also have picture- posi tioning controls in their menu
systems . If the TV cursor controls run out of range before the picture is correctl y positoned, the
receiver box controls wi ll need to be adjusted.
No photo, music
or video play or in
poor quality only
• Check if the source complies with a suppor ted code.
No sound
•IncreasetheVOLUME.
• Check that the TV is not muted, press the MUTE button on the remote control.
•Whennosignalisdetected,theTVautomaticallyswitchesoffthesound.Thisisproperoperationand
does not indicate a malfunction.
Good sound but
poor color or no
picture
•Adjustthecontrast,color,tintandbrightnesssetting.Tryanotherautopicturesetting.
Snowish picture

• Check the antenna connection.

responding to
remote control
• Check whether the batt eries are working. Replace if necessar y.
•Cleantheremotecontrolsensorlensonthemonitor.
•OperatingrangebetweenTVandtheremotecontrolshouldnotbemorethanapproximatelytwentyfeet.
•YoucanstillusethebuttonsontherightsideofyourTV.
• Check if the remote control is in the correct mode.
Control of
accessor y devices
• The infrared signals of the screen m ay infi uence the reception sensibility of other peripherals Solution:
replace the batterie s of the remote contro l of other devices. E.g. keep aw ay a wireless headphone
from within a radius of approximately four feet.
The soft ware w ill
not install
Possibly the operating system is wrong. Go to ww w.usasupport.magnavox .com to see which operating
systems are supported.
Standby
Your T V consumes energy less than 1w in the standby mode.
Energy consumption cont ribu tes to air and w ater pollu tion.
After improper
shutdown
If your T V has been shutdown in an improper way (e.g. power drop, power cord plug out), starting up
the TV again will take a longer time than usual.
