12. AV devices
AV (Audio/Video) devices are external devices
(such as video recorders, DVD players, decoders,
video cameras, etc.) which generate picture and/or
sound signals and can be connected to a TV set.
Video recorders, DVD players and similar devices
can be connected to the Scart 1 or Scart 2 socket.
Decoders must always be connected to the Scart 1
socket.
If an AV device connected to one of the Scart sok-
kets generates a suitable switching voltage, the TV
set automatically switches to AV mode when the
device is switched to playback mode (composite-
video signal).
For AV devices connected to the front sockets, you
must switch the TV set to AV mode manually in
order to display their signals.
For AV devices connected to the front

Selecting A
V mode manually
• Press the "AV" key several times to
step through the AV programme posi-
tions to the desired position
- or -
• Press the "MENU" key to open the
TV menu.
• Use the cursor key ̈ to select the menu
"Settings".
• Use the cursor key ̄ to select the menu item
"Select source".
• Press the "OK" key and open the sub-menu
"Select source".
• Use the cursor key ̆ ̄ to select the source (the
socket to which the desired AV device is connec-
ted).
• Use the cursor key ̈ to activate this source.
• Start the AV device in the desired mode.
