RS-232C
The unit provides a RS-232C communication port for sending and receiving
signals.
USB Connector (x2)
There are two USB2.0 ports on the rear panel for users to connect external
USB devices to the unit, such as ThumbDrive or CD-RW.
IEEE 1394 FireWire
®
(x2)
The Versatile MPEG-4 DVR is equipped with two IEEE 1394 (FireWire
®
)
ports for extended connections.
PAL / NTSC Switch
This switch is used to adjust the unit to an appropriate video format. The
adjusting is for qualified service personnel only.
3. Setup Your Unit
The Versatile MPEG-4 DVR allows user to access some general operations
through the front panel easily. The following sections introduce the general
operations of the unit.
The generally displayed OSD information and its position are shown in the
following figure.

3.1 Front Panel Introduction
The unit’s front panel controls enable user to control the unit and preset the
programmable functions. The 8-channel Versatile MPEG-4 DVR front panel
has 8 keys for 8 channels, respectively. The LED and function keys will be
introduced by name and function in following sections.
