LPCM Output
Discs are recorded in a certain sampling rate. The higher the sampling
rate, the better the sound quality. Some Discs are recorded in a high sam-
pling rate of 96 KHz, while most are recorded at 48 KHz.
You need to adjust LPCM OUTPUT only if you used the COAXIAL or
OPTICAL Digital Audio Out jacks of the Player.

Press SYSTEM MENU.

Press 9 to choose AUDIO SETUP, then press OK.

Press 9 to select LPCM OUTPUT, then press :.

Press 8 or 9 to select LPCM 48K or LPCM 96K, then press
OK. Select LPCM 96K if you are playing a Disc recorded in PCM
(Pulse Code Modulation) 96 KHz. Otherwise, select LPCM 48K.

Press SYSTEM MENU to remove the menus.

Adjust the AUDIO OUT setting according to how you connected the
Player to your TV or Stereo.

Press SYSTEM MENU.

Press 9 to select AUDIO SETUP, then press OK.

AUDIO OUT will be selected. Press -.

Press 8 or 9 to select ANALOG, SPDIF (RAW), or SPDIF
(PCM), then press OK.

hoose ANALOG if you used the Players
FL (front left, white) and
FR (front right, red) jacks
to connect to the TV, Stereo, or Receiver.
Choose SPDIF (RAW) if you connected to a Stereo using the
Players COAXIAL or OPTICAL Digital Audio Out jacks. This selects
the original settings as received by most Stereos. If the sound is dis-
torted, your Stereo may need to receive audio in the PCM (Pulse
Code Modulation) format.
Choose SPDIF (PCM) if you connected to a Stereo using the
Players COAXIAL or OPTICAL Digital Audio Out jacks and your
Stereo is PCM-compatible. Refer to your Stereo owners manual for
details.
