“VIDEO CD COLOR SYSTEM” in “INITIAL SETUP”
according to the TV to be connected to the player.
For details on using the menu, see page 40.
If the TV automatically changes the color system
according to the input signal:
You do not need to select the setting of “VIDEO CD
COLOR SYSTEM ” as its default setting is “AUTO.” The
player automatically changes the color system of video
output according to the color system of the VIDEO CD to be
played.
If the color system of the TV is NTSC:
Set “VIDEO CD COLOR SYSTEM ” to “NTSC.” When you
play a VIDEO CD recorded in the PAL color system, the
picture will be stretched vertically and will be displayed
with the upper and lower parts of the picture cut off.
If the color system of the TV is PAL:
Set “VIDEO CD COLOR SYSTEM ” to “PAL.” When you
turn the power on, pictures may be displayed with no color
or may not appear properly depending on the TV. If you
cannot make menu setting on the TV screen because of the
bad picture conditions, play a VIDEO CD recorded in the
PAL color system before making setting. When “VIDEO
CD COLOR SYSTEM” is set to “PAL,” you cannot view the
pictures of the DVD. When you play a VIDEO CD recorded
in the NTSC color system, the picture will shrink a little
vertically and will be displayed with the upper and lower
parts of the screen masked in black.
The settings above are retained unless you disconnect the
AC power cord or the electricity is cut off.
