Playable files
MP3/WMA disc compatibility with this player is limited as follows:
Playable discs: CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW
Sampling Frequency: 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz
Bit rate: WMA: 48 kbps - 192 kbps(CBR)
MP3: 32 kbps - 320 kbps (CBR)
CD physical format: Mode 1
File system: ISO9660, UDF without interleave
File name: File names are limited to eight characters or less and must incorporate MP3 or WMA
extension.
e.g.********.MP3, ********.WMA
File names cannot contain special characters such as ?!><+*}{`[@]:;\ /., etc.
Less than 50 bytes
Total number of files: Less than 650
WMA codec version: V2, V7, V8, V9 (Stereo sound only)
Notes
Some discs may not permit this operation.
WMA tracks copy-protected cannot be played.
The BITSTREAM/PCM jack outputs MP3/WMA sounds in
the linear PCM format regardless of the current Audio Out
Select selection.

If you stop playback by pressing the STOP button, and then
press the PLAY button, playback will start from the beginning
of the track.
The SKIP, REPEAT and RANDOM functions are also
available.

This player requires discs/recordings to meet certain
technical standards in order to achieve optimal playback
quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are automatically set to
these standards. There are many different types of
recordable disc formats (including CD-R containing
MP3/WMA files). Because this area of technology is still
evolving, Toshiba cannot guarantee that all recordable
discs will produce optimal playback quality. The technical
criteria set forth in this owners manual are meant only
as a guide.

including the MP3 and WMA formats, prior to the
downloading thereof. Toshiba has no right to grant and

Set a CD that contains MP3/WMA files
and close the disc cover.
A menu appears.
Press / / / to select a file name
you want to play.
Press PLAY or ENTER.
Playback starts.

To stop the playback
Press STOP.

Press PAUSE/STEP during playback.
To resume normal playback, press the
PLAY button.
