Troubleshooting Checklist
The PIP inset is black
or lacks contrast.
• Check to be sure that the PIP source is turned on.
• Check that all the wires are connected properly.
• Check to see if your input source for PIP is set correctly.
The PIP inset is “snowy”
when the source is TV.
• Look to see if the TV/VCR button on your VCR has the TV selected or change
the PIP to another source.
Time is incorrect.
• Make sure the time was set initially. Probably power was lost.
• Reset clock manually.
Picture has two horizontal
black bars, one on top
and one on bottom.
• Select correct Aspect Ratio in Option menu.
No picture or sound when
any non-cable source is
selected.
• Check to see if the source equipment has been turned on.
• Make sure that the connections are secure on the back of your TV and on the
source equipment.
Remote control doesn’t
work.
• Make sure the batteries are fresh and installed properly.
• Is correct remote operating mode selected?
Forgot Secret Lock
• If you forget your password, when the display asks you to enter the secret
code, key in ‘7’, ‘7’, '7’, ‘7’ on the remote control.
Menu options can’t be
changed or selected.
• Try unplugging your TV for a few minutes, then plug it back in.
Weak or no Stereo
Sound when using a
stereo VCR.
• Check to see if all the connections are secure.
• Look in the Audio mode menu to see if all the settings are correct.
• If you are using channel 3 or 4 to view your VCR, stereo sound will not be
available.
