2 Press or to select SETUP. The Setup menu opens.
3 Press or to select Parental, then press ENTER. The
password screen opens.
4 Enter your four-digit password (the factory preset password is
0000). The Parental sub-menu opens.
5 Press or to select one of the sub-menu options, then press
ENTER to enter the sub-menu. Options include:
• Program Block—Lets you block programs, based on
content.
• Channel Block—Lets you block the channels you select.
• Input Block—Lets you block the input type you select.
• Open V-Chip—Lets you block programs based on
downloadable ratings. (Only available in the U.S., where
Open V-Chip ratings are available.
• Change Password—Lets you change your parental control
password.
6 Press MENU to exit a sub-menu, or press EXIT to close the menus
and return to normal viewing.
Setting program blocking
Rating guidelines are provided by broadcasting stations. Most television
programs and television movies can be blocked by TV rating or
individual categories. Movies that have been shown in theaters or
direct-to-video movies use the movie rating system (MPAA) only.

Some of the age-based TV parental guidelines ratings also have
content-based ratings.
