To set the date and time:
1 Press MENU on the remote control. The
on-screen menu appears.
2 Press CH+ or CH- to highlight the Function
icon, then press ENTER to enter the
Function
menu.
3 Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Time Setup,
then press ENTER to go to the sub-menu.
The
Time Setup
sub-menu opens.
4 Press CH+ or CH- to select Date/Time, then
press ENTER. The
Date/Time
sub-menu
opens.
5 Press CH+ or CH- to select the option you
want to change. Options include:
• Auto—Sets the correct time zone for your
area.
• Date—Sets the correct date.
• Time—Sets the correct time.
• Timer—Turns the automatic timer On or
Off.
• On Time—Sets the time that the TV
comes on automatically.
• Off Time—Sets the time that the TV goes
off automatically.
6 Press VOL+ or VOL- to change the setting.
For the Date, Time, On Time, and Off Time
options, press VOL+ or VOL- to select the
position to change, then input the information
with the number buttons.
7 Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to adjust the other
settings.
8 Press EXIT to close the menu and return to
normal viewing.
Setting up closed captioning
Closed captioning helps the hearing impaired
with the broadcast program, as well as helping
children learn how to read. A built-in decoder
displays the audio portion of a program as text
on the screen when this option is selected.
Closed captioning availability entirely depends
on broadcasters supplying the signal. Therefore,
closed captioning might not always be available
and language availability will differ by broadcast.
To set the closed captioning options:
1 Press MENU on the remote control. The
on-screen menu appears.
2 Press CH+ or CH- to highlight the Function
icon, then press ENTER to enter the
Function
menu.
3 Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Closed
Caption, then press ENTER to go to the
sub-menu. The
Closed Caption
sub-menu
opens.
4 Press CH+ or CH- to select the option you
want to change, then press ENTER to go to
the sub-menu (if available). Options include:
• NTSC Caption—Sets the closed
captioning type for NTSC broadcasts.
Options include:
• Off–Turns off closed captioning.
• CC1–Standard closed captioning in the
primary language of your area.
• CC2~CC4–Closed captioning in
additional languages (when available).
• Text 1–Program guide and other
information provided by broadcasters.
(This setting blocks a large portion of
the TV picture.)
• Text 2~Text 4–Additional broadcast
information provided by broadcasters.
(This setting blocks a large portion of
the TV picture.)
• DTV Caption—Sets the digital TV caption
type. Options include Off,
Service1~Service6.
