Installing remote control batteries
To install the remote control batteries:
1 Remove the battery cover.
2 Insert two AAA batteries into the battery
compartment. Make sure that you match the
+ and – symbols on the batteries with the +
and – symbols in the battery compartment.
3 Replace the cover.
Using the remote control
To use the remote control:
Point the remote control directly at your
player, within a 60° angle horizontally (30° to
either side), and within 30° vertically of the
remote control sensor on the front of your
player and within approximately 20 feet (6 m)
of your player.

Your carton should contain:
DVD player
•User Guide
Remote control
Batteries (2 AAA)
If you need to replace any of these items, call
our help line mentioned in the Warranty section
of this guide.
Carefully remove all the components from the
carton and make sure that you have all the
necessary components before you dispose of
the carton.
Remove all packing materials from the
individual components.
28 RETURN While playing a DVD or VCD, press
to return to the previous menu, if
available.
29 PSCAN/
NORMAL
Toggles progressive scan on or off.
30 SLOW Press to begin slow motion
playback. Press repeatedly to step
through slow speeds. Press PLAY
to resume normal playback.
31 STEP Press once to pause playback, then
press repeatedly to step forward
one frame at a time. Press PLAY to
resume normal playback.

NEXT
Press to advance to the next chapter
(DVD) or track (CD).

PREV
Press to return to the previous
chapter (DVD) or track (CD).
34 FWD Press to fast forward the DVD or
CD. Press repeatedly to step
through the fast forward speeds.

REV
Press to fast reverse the DVD or CD.
Press repeatedly to step through the
fast reverse speeds.

PLAY
Press to start playback.

Notes
Do not mix batteries of different types.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Remove batteries when the charge is depleted.
Battery chemicals can cause a rash. If the
batteries leak, clean the battery compartment
with a cloth. If chemicals touch your skin, wash
immediately.
If the remote control is not going to be used for
an extended period of time, remove the
batteries.
Caution
Do not expose the remote control to liquids, direct
sunlight, or shock. Do not mix batteries of different
types.
