A/B CODE
Control Two JVC VCRs
The supplied remote control is capable of controlling two JVC
VCRs independently using the A/B CODE switch. You can set
this VCR so it responds to remote commands only when the
switch is set to B, and another VCR so it responds to commands
when the switch is set to A. The switch is preset to A because
this VCR normally responds to A-code signals. You can easily
modify this VCR to accept B-code commands.

Unplug from the AC outlet.
SET A/B CODE SWITCH

Set the A/B CODE switch on the remote control to B.
PLUG IN POWER CORD

Plug back in to the AC outlet.
TURN VCR POWER ON

Press POWER on the remote.
● You can control two VCRs with the same remote
control by toggling the slide switch between A and B.
The VCR will now respond only to B-code commands.
DSS Receiver Multi-Brand
Remote Control
The VCR's remote control can control functions on the brands
of DSS (Digital Satellite System) receivers listed below.
TURN ON THE DSS

Turn the power on using the DSS receiver's remote
control.

Set the TV/CABLE/VCR switch on the VCR’s remote
control to CABLE.

While holding down POWER on the VCR’s remote
control, use the DIGIT keys to enter the DSS receiver
brand number from the chart below and then press
STOP.
● Once you have set the remote control to operate the
DSS receiver, you don't have to repeat this step until
you replace the remote control's batteries.
OPERATE DSS RECEIVER

First, press POWER to see if the DSS receiver's power
goes off as it should. If it does, try other functions (CH
+/– and the DIGIT keys can be used to operate the DSS
receiver).
● Depending on the DSS receiver you may have to
press ENTER after having pressed the DIGIT keys.
● To return the remote to VCR control, set the TV/
CABLE/VCR switch to VCR.
NOTE:
Depending on type of DSS receiver, there may be cases where
some or all functions cannot be operated using the remote
control.
