Child Lock 49
The Child Lock feature disables the buttons on the VCR and
remote control.
• If you lose your remote control
when Child Lock is on, contact

To cancel Child Lock, press and hold the POWER button
on the remote control for more than seven seconds until
the VCR power comes on. The dash (-) will disappear from
the display panel.

When the VCR is on, press and hold the POWER button
on the remote control for more than seven seconds until
a dash (-) appears to the right of the clock on the display
panel. The power will turn off.
• The dash (-) will appear on the display panel.
• The remote control will still operate your TV or Cable Box/DBS if you
have set it to do so. Details are on pages 26-27.
• The VCR power will not come on automatically if you insert a tape.
• Timer recordings will take place as scheduled. Make sure a tape is in
the VCR. Make sure the VCR power is off before the recording’s
scheduled start time. The dash (-) will reappear on the display panel
when the timer recording is finished.
• If you press the POWER button on the VCR to stop a timer recording
that is in progress, recording will stop and Child Lock will be
reactivated immediately. Pressing the POWER button on the remote
control will not affect the timer recording.
