Using the remote control to operate VCRs, cable
boxes and other equipment
about your remote control
This TV's remote control has four "layers": the rlRr layer, the VCR-
A layer, the DVD layer, and the AUDIO layer. Each layer can be
used to operate a different component in your t_JV system. You
choose the layer you want to use by setting the "select" switch
across the top of the remote control.
When you first receive your remote control, the TV layer is set up
to operate your Mitsubishi TV and VCR-A. The DVD layer is
programmed to operate your Mitsubishi DVD player and the
AUDIO layer is programmed for your Mitsubishi A/V receiver.
You can use the following to operate your TV:

If you have a cable box (including the distal satellite box), a non-
Mitsubishi VCR, or a Mitsubishi laserdisc player, an A/V receiver,
or a compact disc player, you can set up the layers in the remote
control to operate these components.
The VCR-A layer can be set ap to operate a non-Mitsubishi VCR.
The DVD layer can be set to operate a VCR, cable box,_digital
satellite box, or a Mitsubishi laserdisc player. The AUDIO layer
can be set up to operate a cable box, digital satellite box, laserdisc
player, or an A/V receiver. The _V layer can be set up to operate
the volume control of an A/V receiver.

Turn off your VCR.
Set the select switch on the ]'emote to choose the layer you
want to set up: VCR-A or DVD.
While holding in the POWER button on the remote: control,
enter the code number listed in the chart on the following page
for your brand of VCR. Be sure to enter both digit_,_of the code
number. If more than one number is listed, try the first one.
