Setting items Options
BD Audio Mode
For BD, selects whether to output
the secondary and interactive
audio with primary audio if it is
available or only the primary
audio. Refer to “Setting the BD
Audio Mode” on page 32.
HD Audio Output*:
Outputs only the primary audio. Set this mode in order to output Dolby
Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS or DTS-HD audio of BD
through HDMI connection.
Mix Audio Output:
Outputs the secondary and interactive audio with primary audio if it is available.
HDMI Audio Out
Sets the audio format for the audio
output from HDMI OUT and
AUDIO OUTPUT (DIGITAL OPTICAL/
COAXIAL) jacks.
HDMI Multi(Normal)*:
The multi-channel audio signals are output from HDMI OUT jack with
bitstream or LPCM.
HDMI Multi(LPCM):
The multi-channel audio signals are output from HDMI OUT jack with LPCM.

HDMI 2ch:
The audio signals are output from the HDMI OUT jack with a downmixed to
2ch LPCM.
Audio Mute:
Mutes the HDMI audio signal, and set the signal format from AUDIO OUTPUT
(DIGITAL OPTICAL / COAXIAL) jacks.

7.1ch Audio Out
Sets the audio format for the audio
output from the AUDIO OUTPUT
(ANALOG 7.1ch) jacks.
Multi Channel*:
The multi-audio signals are output from the AUDIO OUTPUT (ANALOG 7.1ch)
jacks. Refer to pages 42-44 for speaker setting options.
2 Channel:
Down-mixed 2-channel audio signals are output from the AUDIO OUTPUT
(ANALOG 7.1ch) jacks.
Down Sampling
Sets the digital audio output from
AUDIO OUTPUT (DIGITAL
COAXIAL/OPTICAL) jacks when
playing back BD or DVD recorded
in LPCM.
On:
LPCM signals are converted to 48 kHz for output.
• Set to “On” when using digital connections to an AV receiver that is not
compatible with sampling frequencies of 96 kHz.
Off*:
For BD and DVD recorded in LPCM without copyright protection, 2-channel
audio signals up to 192 kHz are output as LPCM signals with no conversion.
DRC
Sets whether to compress the
range of sound volume (dynamic
range control) when Dolby Digital,
Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby
TrueHD audio is played back.
Auto*:
When the discs recorded in Dolby TrueHD format are in playback, this unit detects
DRC setting of the disc and set “DRC” setting to “On” or “Off” automatically.

- HDMI cable is not connected to HDMI OUT jack.
- Connected TV is off.
- Connected TV is not compatible with audio output.
