DISPLAYS
Blue Screen
The blue-screen display appears on the TV
screen when the VCR does not send a signal
to the TV from either the
VHF/UHF CATV OUT
terminal or the
AUDIO/VIDEO OUT
jacks, such
as:
• When you play unrecorded portions of a
tape
• When you tune the VCR to an unused
channel
Note:
The VCR does not record the blue
screen.
Follow these steps to turn the blue screen on
or off.
1. Press
TV/VCR
so
VCR
appears on the
VCR’s display.
2. Press
MENU
to display the main menu.
3. Press to highlight
SET UP
, then press
SET
. The set up menu appears.
4. Press or to select
BLUE SCREEN
.
5. Press or to highlight
ON
or
OFF
.
6. Press
SET
.
Operation Displays
• Each time you press
ON SCREEN
, your
VCR’s current operating information
appears on the TV screen in this
sequence:

FF
, or
REW
(if a cassette is inserted)

d. Tape mode and/or the tuned channel for
about 3 seconds
• When you press a function button (such as
STOP
), the corresponding indicator
appears on the TV screen for about 3 sec-
onds.
• When you change the channel, the chan-
nel number appears on the TV screen for
about 3 seconds.
Note:
If you play back a poor quality (worn) or
damaged tape, the function indicator or chan-
nel number might not appear on the TV.
Auto Display
When you press an operation button (
PLAY

RECORD
,
STOP
,
FF
, or
REW
),
a
number button, or
CH
or
CH ,
the current
operating mode or a channel number appears
on the TV screen for about 3 seconds
