DVD System Menu Options (continued)
GENERAL settings (underlined options are the factory default settings)
Screen Saver
A screen saver prevents damage to the TV screen by avoiding
exposure to a static image for too long.
1) Use ST keys to select one of the options.
{ On } – Select this if you wish to turn off the TV screen
after playback had been stopped or paused for
longer than 15 minutes.
{ Off } – Select this to disable the screen saver.
2) Press OK to con rm your selection.
Progressive/
Interlaced
Progressive scan delivers a higher picture quality than the
standard interlaced TV channel scan. It only works when you
have connected the recorder’s Y Pb Pr jacks to your TV that
supports the progressive video input. Otherwise, the image may
not appear or will be distorted. Please check your TV user
manual for more information.
1) Use ST keys to select one of the options.
{ Interlaced } – Select to enable interlaced feature.
{ Progressive } – Select to enable progressive scan feature.
2) Press OK to con rm your selection.
Video Output
Format
The colour system of the DVD system, DVD and TV should
match. Only then will it be possible to play a DVD on this
system. Before changing the TV system, determine the colour
system of your TV set.
1) Use ST keys to select one of the options.
{ NTSC } – Select this if the connected TV set has the
NTSC colour system. It will change the video
signal of a PAL disc and output it to NTSC
format.
{ PAL } – Select this if the connected TV set has the PAL
colour system. It will change the video signal of
an NTSC disc and output it to PAL format.
{ PAL-N } – Select this if the connected TV set has the
PAL N colour system. It will change the video
signal of an NTSC disc and output it to PAL N
format.
2) Press OK to con rm your selection.
Helpful Hint:
If a blank/distorted TV screen appears, wait for 10 seconds for the auto
recovery.
