Your TV remote control can operate accesso-
ry devices such as cable boxes, VCRs, DVD
players, satellite receivers, and amplifiers.
Normally, the remote is in TV mode. You
must press the Select button to switch the
remote to one of the accessory modes—CBL,
VCR, DVD, SAT, or AMP.
It is likely you will need to program you
remote, but, before you do, try this test:
• Press the Select button repeatedly until the
mode you desire lights up. When the light
begins blinking, point the remote toward
the accessory device, then press the
Standby–On button. If the device responds
you do not need to program the remote. If
not, follow the steps below to program the
remote.
1
Look up the number for the device on
the list below:
1 Cable (CBL)
2 VCR
3 DVD
4 Satellite (SAT)
5 Amplifier (AMP).
Look up the number for the manufac-
turer on pages 24–25.
2
Press the Select and Standby–On but-
tons at the same time, then release.
3
Press the number for the device fol-
lowed by the manufacturers code. The
green Standby-On light will blink,
indicating the code is valid. If the light
does not blink, start again at step 1
using another code (if available).
