TROUBLESHOOTING
Before requesting service for this unit, please check the following chart for possible causes and remedies. If the remedies
indicated in the chart below do not solve the problem, please consult your dealer for instructions.
Common Symptom Possible Cause Remedy
No power
ü Power cord is not properly
connected to the power outlet
ü Make sure there is a connection between the
power cord and the outlet.
Disc tray can't close ü Disc is not properly placed ü Replace the disc properly.
No playback
ü Power is OFF
ü No disc is inserted (“no disc” will be
shown on screen).
ü Disc is upside down. ("no disc” is
shown on screen).
ü Dirty disk
ü Deformed disk
ü Condensation in unit
ü Turn the power ON.
ü Insert a disc.
ü Reload disk. The label side should face
upward.
ü Clean disc surface.
ü Replace disc.
ü Turn power on for 1-2 hours before using the
unit.
Unwanted mosaic-like
garbage display during
playback
ü Poor disc ü Replace disc
No audio
ü Slow or fast playback
ü Audio terminals are not connected.
ü TV volume is too low
ü Wrong AUDIO OUTPUT setting
ü Press [PLAY] to resume normal playback
ü Check audio connections
ü Adjust TV volume

No Video
ü Disconnection of video equipment
ü Wrong input setting of video

Remote control unit does
not work
ü No batteries in remote control
ü Dead batteries
ü Remote control not being pointed
at the remote sensor
ü Put in new batteries
ü Replace batteries
ü Point the remote control at the remote sensor

Does not play, even when a title is
selected
ü Prohibited by the parental
rating
ü Confirm the PARENTAL setting.
Audio or subtitle language is not the
one selected during the initial
setting.
ü The selected language does
not exist I on the disc
ü Select another language using [AUDIO] or
[SUBTITLE]
Setting language is not what you
want
ü Wrong OSD language setting ü Check the OSD language setting
Audio or Subtitle can not be
changed
ü The disc contains only one
language
ü Check the disc contents
The password for parental rating
has been forgotten
ü Use “0000” to override the forgotten
password and re-enter a new password.
The video image brightness
fluctuates during playback
ü The DVD player is connected
to the television via a video tape
recorder
ü Connect the DVD player directly to the TV,
bypassing the VCR.
