HighSpeedAfewsecondsEraseslemanagementdataforprintjobdatastoredonthe
printer’sharddisk.Choosethismethodforrelativelyfast
erasure.Becauseonlythelemanagementdataiserased,the
printjobdataitselfisnoterased.Notethatitmaybepossibleto
readthisdatausingcommercialdatarecoverysoftware.
SecureHighSpd.About40minutesOverwritestheentireharddiskwithrandomdata.Noverication
isperformedtocheckifthedatawascorrectlywritten.Choose
thismethodtoerasehighlycondentialdata.Notethatitmay
bepossibletoreadtheoverwrittendatausingspecializeddata
recoverytools.
SecureAbout30hoursOverwritestheentireharddiskwith00,FF,andrandomdata
(onetimeeach).Vericationisperformedtocheckifthedata
wascorrectlywritten.Choosethismethodtoeraseespecially
condentialdata.Itisvirtuallyimpossibletorecoverthe
overwrittendata.ConformstotheDoD5220.22-Mstandardof
theU.S.DepartmentofDefense.

•Foramoresecuremethodofpreventingdatarecovery,werecommendphysicallyormagnetically
destroyingtheharddisk.Inthiscase,theharddiskcannolongerbeused.
•EraseHDDDataisnotavailableifthereisajobqueue.
AlsonotethatduringexecutionofEraseHDDData,printjobscannotbeprocessed.
