SCART – A type of connector commonly found on
consumer electronics products manufactured for use in
Western Europe.
Screen ratio – See Aspect ratio.
Source – Any device that provides audio or video
signals for use with the 3•2•1
®
system. The AUDIO
OUT from such a device connects to the AUDIO IN on
the media center
S-Video – A video signal that separates the black and
white from the color information. S-Video provides
higher resolution than Composite video, but not as high
as Component video. This type of connection requires
use of an S-Video cable.
Teletext – An information retrieval service provided by
television broadcast companies in Europe and some
other countries, not including the U.S.
Title – A main component of contents on a DVD. There
can be several titles on a DVD, one of which may be a
movie.
Video CD – A compact disc (CD) that contains video.
Widescreen – A TV having an aspect ratio of 16:9 with
a picture shape that is 16 units wide by 9 units high.
