2 Press the 6 buttons and choose
the surround mode
The surround mode changes as follows
each time the buttons are pressed.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC II MUSIC:
This mode is for use with any stereo
music recordings, and provides a wide
and deep sound space.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC II MOVIE:
Movie programmes with Dolby*
Surround sound are heard with 5.1ch
surround sound.
SURROUND OFF:
Choose when you want to stop the
surround effect.
• The sound features can also be chosen and
set from the “SOUND menu” (see page 27)

Surround settings
1 Press the i (surround) button
The SURROUND FUNCTION menu
appears.
2 Press the 6 buttons and choose
the surround mode, then press the
a or 3 button
The DOLBY DIGITAL, DOLBY PRO
LOGIC II MUSIC or DOLBY PRO
LOGIC II MOVIE menu appears.
Example:
When DOLBY PRO LOGIC II MUSIC is
chosen
3 Press the 6 buttons to choose an
item. Then press the 5 buttons
to change the setting
TV SPEAKER:
L/C/R:
Choose when using the TV speaker.
CENTRE:
Choose when using external L/R
speakers and the TV speaker as the
centre speaker.
OFF:
Choose when using an external front
speaker. Sound does not come from
the TV speaker.
LEFT:
Set the volume for the left speaker.
CENTRE:
Set the volume for the centre speaker.
RIGHT:
Set the volume for the right speaker.
LS:
Set the volume for the left surround
speaker.
RS:
Set the volume for the right surround
speaker.
WOOFER:
Set the volume for the sub woofer.
DISTANCE:
Change the setting according to the
distance between the centre speaker and
the listening point and the distance
between the surround speaker and the
listening point.
CENTRE:
Choose from 0, 0.3, 0.9, and 1.5 metres.
SURROUND:
Choose from 0, 0.3, 0.9, and 1.5 metres.
