Timer Programming
With the G-CODE
®
/SHOWVIEW
TM
system, timer programming is
greatly simplified because each TV programme has a
corresponding code number which your unit is able to
recognize.
A
Select the VHS deck.
On the unit
Press VCR/DVD repeatedly so that the VCR indicator
lights up.
On the remote control
Press VCR so that the VCR indicator lights up.
B
Access the G-CODE/SHOWVIEW screen.
C
Enter the G-CODE number.
D
Access the G-CODE Program screen.
● If the number you entered is invalid, “ERROR” appears on the
TV screen. Press & and input a valid G-
CODE number.
● If the “G-
CODE/SHOWVIEW SETUP” screen appears, see
“ATTENTION” on page 28.
E
Set the tape speed.
Press p (SP/LP or EP*).
* EP is for NTSC only.
INFORMATION
G-CODE and SHOWVIEW are different trademarks used to
represent the same easy recording feature, but only the term
G-
CODE system will be used in the instructions. If you use the
SHOWVIEW system, follow the same instructions listed for
the G-
CODE system.
Before performing the G-CODE

Programming:
● Be sure to read “G-CODE
®
/SHOWVIEW
TM
System Setup” (pg.
26)
● Make sure that the unit’s built-in clock is set properly.
● Insert a cassette with the safety tab in place. The unit will
come on automatically.
● Turn on the TV and select the video channel (or AV mode).
● Slide the TV/VCR/DVD switch on the remote control to the
right.
● Select the appropriate color system with “PAL/MESECAM”
and “NTSC.” (

Slide to the
right.
Press PROG.
Press the number keys to
enter the G-
CODE number of
a programme you wish to
record.
● If you make a mistake, press &
and input the correct number.
Press ENTER, then the
G-
CODE Program screen
appears (if you’re just starting
out, “P1” appears).
IMPORTANT
Make sure the channel position number you wish to record is
displayed; if not, see “G-
CODE
®
/SHOWVIEW
TM
System Setup” on
page 26 and set the Guide Program number correctly.
