Program overlap warning display
If “PROGRAM NOT COMPLETED PROGRAM OVERLAP”
appears, you have another program overlapping the program you
have just made. The Program Check screen appears and
conflicting programs will start blinking.
Example:
Program 1 (you have just made) and Program 4 overlap each other
A Select program to modify
Press rt, then press OK or e.
● You can only select one of the
overlapping programs.
● If you do not mind this overlap, press
PROG. to finish the timer program
setting. The program starting earlier or
program with the lower program number will be recorded.
B Cancel or change program setting
To cancel a program, press CANCEL when
the Program screen you do not want is
shown.
To change a program, press the
appropriate button: START+/–, STOP+/–,
DATE+/–, CH+/–, DAILY (M-F) (Number
key “8”), WEEKLY (Number key “9”) and/or SP/EP (p) when the
Program screen on which you want to make changes is shown,
then press OK or
e.
● If the overlap is not yet solved, the conflicting programs will be
shown on the Program check screen. Repeat the above steps
again.
When you record a TV program with this VCR, the VCR
automatically stores in its memory the recording start time, date,
channel information, etc. If the tape is recorded on this VCR for
the first time, new tape number and the recording date are also
registered. On the tape only the tape number information is
recorded.
Navigation Playback
You can quickly find programs you have recorded on a tape using
this VCR. You can also select a program to watch, and then
automatically search for the beginning of the program.
A Load a cassette
Inserting the cassette recorded on this VCR.
● The VCR turns on automatically.
● The tape will run for a few seconds while the VCR searches for
the tape number.
● If the cassette’s record safety tab has been removed, playback
begins automatically.
B Access Title screen
Press NAVIGATION.
● After pressing NAVIGATION, it may take a few seconds to
access the Title screen.
● If there is no cassette loaded, the Find Title screen appears.

C Select program, then start playback
Press rt to move the highlight bar
(arrow) to the program you want to play
back, then press OK.
● Playback starts automatically after the
selected program is located.
Deactivating Video Navigation
If you do not want to store program information, you can
deactivate the Video Navigation function.
A Access Main Menu screen, then Video
Navigation screen
Press MENU on the Remote. Press rt to
move the highlight bar (arrow) to “VIDEO
NAVIGATION”, then press OK or
e.
B Deactivate Video Navigation
Press rt to move the highlight bar
(arrow) to “NAVIGATION”, then press OK
or
e.
Press MENU to return to normal screen.
NOTES:
● Video Navigation is possible only with the cassettes recorded on
this VCR.
● To record the date and time as the program title in this VCR’s
memory, make sure the VCR’s clock is set correctly before
recording.
● To record the program information in this VCR’s memory, you
must continue to record each program for over the minimum
recording time; 5 minutes for the SP mode or 15 minutes for the
EP mode.
● During playback or when searching for the beginning of a
program, a VCR might find two different tape numbers recorded
on a tape. After you remove this tape, the tape will be assigned
just one tape number (the smaller one). After this, the higher
tape number will be missing from the memory’s tape number
list.
● Tape program information is stored in this VCR’s memory. If this
VCR’s memory is damaged and the program information is lost,
it is impossible to restore that information.Screens for video
Video Navigation
● Turn on the VCR and TV, and select the VCR channel (or AV
mode).
● Set the VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS selector on the Remote to
“VCR”.
Video Navigation Title Screen
A Tape number
B Tape title
If there is no tape title entered, the earliest recording date
will be displayed.
C Current page number/total page number
D Largest blank space on the tape
(Calculated remaining time based on the current tape
speed (SP or EP) selected on the VCR)
E Recorded programs on this tape
F Detailed information of currently selected program
(Recording start time, end time, recording length,
recording speed, program title and category)
If there are no title and category entered, “TITLE” and
“CATEGORY” will be displayed.
G Current tape position
“*” is displayed if the currently selected program and the
current tape position are different while tape is not
running.
H Currently selected program
I Program information
(Recording start time, date and channel number)
