EDITING
You can use a camcorder as the source player and your unit as the
recording deck.
1 Make connections.
A If the camcorder has no S-VIDEO output connector:
— connect the camcorder’s Audio/Video output connector to the
unit’s [AUDIO IN F-1] and [VIDEO IN F-1] input connectors on the
front panel.
When using a monaural camcorder, connect its AUDIO OUT
connector to the [AUDIO L] input connector on your unit.
B If the camcorder has an S-VIDEO output connector:
— connect the camcorder’s Audio/Video output and S-Video
output connectors to the unit’s [AUDIO IN F-1]
and [S-VIDEO IN
F-1] connectors on the front panel.
2 Press VCR/DVD repeatedly to select the recording deck.
3 Press INPUT SELECT +/– on the unit or INPUT +/– on the
remote control to select “F-1”.
Set “FRONT AUX F-1” to “VIDEO” for the [VIDEO IN F-1] connector,
or “S-VIDEO” for the [S-VIDEO IN F-1] connector, depending on the
connector being used. (pg. 59) This setting is also applied to the
VCR deck.
4 For VCR deck only
Set “PICTURE CONTROL” to the appropriate mode. (pg. 61)
5 Press REC MODE repeatedly to set the recording mode.

6 Start playback on the camcorder slightly before the actual point
from where you wish to start dubbing.
For VCR deck only
Press 7 and 9 simultaneously to set to record pause mode.
7 Press 7 on the unit to start recording. Or while holding 7, press
4 on the remote control. The dubbing starts.
For VCR deck only
After about 10 seconds, press 4 to start recording.
8 Press 8 on the unit, then stop playback on the camcorder.
NOTES:
All necessary cables can be obtained from your dealer.
Refer to the camcorder’s instruction manual for operating procedure.
The quality of dubbed picture becomes poorer than that of the
original.
When you select “EDIT” to dub tapes in step 4, be sure to select
“AUTO” (or “NORM” when “VIDEO CALIBRATION” is set to “OFF”)
after you finish dubbing the tapes.
