On-screen displays appear
each time you adjust a
function.
This is part of the normal
operation of the TV.
See "Understanding the On-
Screen Displays" in Chapter
4 for a full explanation of
the on-screen displays.
There's no sound even
when the volume is turned
up.
Check that the MUTE
button isn't; on.
The TV's "Listen to:" setting
may be set to "second audio
program" (S.A.P.).
Check that "Speaker"
function is set to "On."

which explains the location
and function of the MUTE
button.
See "Adjasting the sound" in
Chapter 3, which explains
hour to adjust the "Listen to"
setting.
You forget the code you used
to set the parental lock.
Use the alternate procedure
that doesn't require the use
of the code.

"Procedure for Bypassing
the Parental Lock."
You can't program the TV to
turn on automatically.
The TV may be locked. See "Using the parental
lock" under "Using the
Advanced Features" in
Chapter 3.
The sound doesn't match the
image on screen.
The TV's "Listen to:" setting
may be set to "second audio
program" (S.A,P.).

Chapter 3, which explains
how to adjust the _'Listen to"
setting.
There is a large black
rectangle on the screen.
The TV has been set to
"text" mode, but there is no
text information being
broadcast.
See "Using the closed
caption decoder" under

Chapter: 3, or press the
HOME button to :make the
rectangle disappear.
You cannot see a picture
when you play a tape in the
VCR.
If you connected your VCR
with A/V cables, use the
INPUT button to select the
input source that the VCR is
connected to.
