1. Load a pre-recorded tape. (If the erasure prevention tab
has been removed, the VCR automatically begins play-
back mode.)
2. Press the REC/PLAY MODE buttons (+ or -) to select the
desired playback mode.
• A tape recorded in 2H mode cannot be played back
in 6H, L18H, 72H, or 96H.
• A tape recorded in 6H, L18H, 72H, or 96H mode
cannot be played back in 2H mode.
3. Set the VIDEO switch to either COLOR or B/W according
to the type of video signal to be played back. When B/W
is set, color recordings are played in black and white.
4. Press the PLAY button to start playback.
5. Press the STOP button to halt playback.
• Turn the SHUTTLE ring to the left to rewind the tape
when the VCR is in stop mode.
• Turn the SHUTTLE ring to the right to fast forward
the tape when the VCR is in the stop mode.
9.1.1 Playback Mode
• Pressing the REC/PLAY MODE button switches playback mode in the
following order: 6H, L18H, 72H, 96H, 6H (when recorded in these modes).
• If the recording was made in 2H mode, pressing the REC/PLAY MODE
button does not switch the playback mode.
