1 STANDBY/ON button
Press to switch the player on or to put in standby
(pages 21, 25).
2 Disc tray
When loading a disc, place it in the disc tray with the
label side facing up (pages 21, 25).
3 DISC buttons and indicators
Use to select discs in the player directly. The
indicator lights for the selected disc (page 21).
4 0 OPEN/CLOSE button
Press to open and close the disc tray (pages 21, 25).
5 DISC SKIP button
During playback, press to start playing the next disc
in the player.
If the disc tray is open while no disc is playing, the
tray rotates one disc space.
If the disc tray was opened using the EXCHANGE
button, then pressing DISC SKIP rotates the disc
tray two disc spaces (pages 21, 22).
6 EXCHANGE button
Press during playback to open the disc tray without
stopping playback. Press again to close the disc tray
(page 22).
7 3 (play) button
Press to start or resume playback (pages 21, 25).
8 8 (pause) button
Press during playback to pause. Press again to
resume playback (page 46).
9 7 (stop) button
Press to stop playback. Pressing once enables
playback to resume from a point shortly before the
location where it stopped. Pressing twice causes the
disc to return to the beginning of the disc if playback
starts again (page 25).
0 ¡ ¢ (forward) button
Press to advance to chapters/tracks. Press and hold
to perform fast-forward scanning (page 24).
- 4 1 (reverse) button
Press to go back to previous chapters/tracks. Press
and hold to perform reverse playback scanning
(pages 24).
= DVD illumination
Lights when a DVD is loaded and when no disc is
loaded. Turns off when a disc format other than DVD
is loaded in the player.
~ Display window
Displays system information (page 10).
! Remote sensor
Point the remote control toward the remote sensor
to operate the player (page 8).
@ FL DIMMER button and indicator
Press to change the brightness of the Display
window and disc illumination in four steps:
maximum brightness, medium brightness, minimum
brightness, and off.
The indicator lights when the Display window is
turned off.
# CD MODE button and indicator
Switches CD mode on/off. The indicator lights when
on (page 45).
