4.5.7 Image Cleaner
Plasma technology has an effect called Image
Sticking. If stationary pictures remain displayed
for too long their ghost image will remain when the
picture is taken away; the image is sticking to the
screen. Usually ghost images such as these
disappear after a few minutes during normal use
but if the stationary image was left on the screen
for too long then the ghost image may be more
persistent. To remove this image the JV50P has
an Image Cleaner function and you may choose
this to remove the ghost image. You may let the
Image Cleaner cycle through its pre-programmed
time of you may stop the function by powering the
HDTV off.
CAUTION: If you leave a stationary image on the screen for a few hours (a computer desktop image for
example) it may be permanently burnt onto the screen and the Image Cleaner will not be able to remove
it. Station logos and ticker tape images my leave a ghost image but this is usually not permanent. Image
Sticking is not covered under the warranty.
