Two Mobile Receiver/Controllers and One
Standard-Def DVR
Components Required
Two Splitter Kits, KVH P/N 72-0177
(TracVision M3/M2 only) A Splitter Kit is included
in the Extra Receiver Kit (P/N 01-0288-01).
Destacker, Dual-output, KVH P/N 19-0410
The special DC block (40V) splitter included in
the Splitter Kit permits communications between
the antenna and the primary receiver/controller.
A standard off-the-shelf splitter will not work.
Why Do I Need a Dual-output Destacker?
The output of the TracVision antenna is a special
stacked signal, which the mobile receiver/
controller is configured to decode. Since all DVRs
are configured to decode unstacked signals, a
dual-output destacker is needed to convert the
antenna’s stacked signal into two unstacked
signals.
•Adual-output destacker is required because
DVRs, such as TiVo, have two unstacked inputs,
whereas standard receivers have only one input.
Adding the Second Mobile Receiver/Controller
Refer to “Two TracVision Mobile Receivers” on
page A.7 for details.
Recording Limitation
Since the mobile receiver/controller controls
satellite selection, the DVR can record any
channel that is carried on the currently selected
satellite; however it cannot record a channel that
is carried on a different satellite. For example, if
your mobile receiver/controller is tuned to a
channel on the 119 satellite, you would not be
able to record a program on the 101 satellite. You
would need to switch to the 101 satellite on the
mobile receiver/controller.
