Special Playback Features
After you are familiar with tape playback (see page 4, "To Playback"), you
are ready to enjoy the special playback features described on this page.
These features work best in the SLP mode. The sound will be muted.

To Rapidly Locate a Particular Segment
1 Press the Search button on the remote control.
This starts a rapid forward or reverse visual search.
2 Press the Search button again or the Play button to return to
playback.
Search speed in SLP mode is about 27 times the normal speed.
During search playback, some noise bars will appear on the TV screen.
Intelligent Search
If the search is re-started within 5 seconds of a previous search, the
search speed will be slowed down (SLP mode: 9 times). Select a function
within 8 second to locate the particular segment. If a function is not
selected within 8 seconds normal search speed with resume.
To View a Double Speed Playback Picture
1 During playback, press the X2 button on the remote control.
2 Press this button once more to release the tape from double speed
playback.
To View an Instant Search
1 During playback, press the Frame Advance button on the remote
control.
The tape will quickly advance through about 60 seconds of tape. This is
useful for skipping short program segments and then returning to play.
To View a Still Picture (During Playback)
1 Press the Pause/ Still button on the remote control.
A freeze frame playback image appears. After the TV/VCR Combination is
in the still or slow mode for 3 minutes, it will stop automatically to protect
the tape and video head.
2 Press this button again to release the still and continue playback.
