2.6 Performing a Silent Install
Silent installation allows you to predefine the answers that you would normally supply to the setup
program interactively. A silent install is recommended when no user interaction is intended.
Before you begin a silent install, you must meet the prerequisites given in Section 2.1,
“Assumptions and Prerequisites”, on page 9. Then, follow steps 1 through 3 in Section 2.3,
“Installing the HMP Software”, on page 10. After you complete step 3, continue with the following
steps:
1. To display a list of the package names that can be silently installed, enter the following
command:
./install.sh --silent
The following messages are displayed:
Usage: ./install.sh --silent <PKG1> <PKG2> ... <PKGn>
Valid package selections are:
-------------------------------
DLGChmp Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) Host Media Processing Software
DLGCsnmp SNMP Agent Software
DLGCdocs Documentation
ALL All available packages
2. Enter the silent install command with the packages you want to install. For example, if you
want to install HMP software and the associated documentation, use the following command:
./install.sh --silent lsb-intel-hmp-hmp lsb-intel-hmp-docs
See Table 3 for a list of all the packages.
3. Run
config.sh at least once after installing the software.
4. Activate an HMP Software license file as described in Chapter 3, “Activating a License” of the
Intel NetStructure Host Media Processing Release 1.5 for Linux License Manager
