4:3PAN ANDSCAN:Select when theunitisconnected
toaconventionalTV.VideomaterialformattedinthePan
Scanstyleisplayedback inthatstyle(the leftandright
edgesarecutoff).
4:3LETTERBOX:Select whentheunitis connectedtoa
conventional TV. Wide-screen images are shownon the
screenwithablackbandatthetopandbottom.
ThismenuitemonlyappliesifyouareconnectedtoyourTV
(orsurroundsoundreceiver)viaHDMI.
Movies are recorded on film at a rate of 24 pictures, or
frames,persecond.ManyofthemoviesonBDdisksare
placedonthediskatthisframerate(24framespersecond).
However,notallTVscandisplay24frames/secondofvideo.
IftheBDplayerisconnectedtotheTVviaHDMI,andthe
TVhasthecapabilitytodisplay24frames/secondofvideo,
setting the Film Mode option to YES indicates to the BD
playerthatitmayoutputdiskcontentrecordedat24frames/
second directly (without converting it to 30 or 60 frames/
second).

FILMMODE
ThisoptiondetermineswhethertousetheDeepColor(color
depth) setting forvideosignals output fromthe HDMIOUT
jack.
ConnectingtheplayerandaTVthatsupportsDeepColor
allowsmoreprecisebrightnessandcolorinformationthan
when connecting it to a TV that does not support Deep
Color. Itis recommendedto setthis optionto OFFif the
picture is unstable or colors appear unnatural.
DEEPCOLOR
TheColorSpacesettingonlyaffectstheHDMIvideooutput.
Choose the option that corresponds correctly to your TV
(YCCorRGB).IfyourTVsupportsxvYCC,awidermore
accuraterangeofcolorswilldisplay,comparedtoRGB.
